Appian Brand and Web Redesign
In my initial months at Appian, the company was in the midst of a full brand redesign. During this time, I split my responsibilities between supporting the brand refresh and contributing to overall look and feel of the website, as well as assisting with designing specific pages. The goal for the new website was to focus on the human element of low-code, with a bright, open design and imagery focused on individuals and teams collaborating.
Appian Community
In addition to my work on the main website redesign, I was tasked with redesigning Appian's Community experience. The aim for this aspect of the redesign was to implement more color and illustrations to bring a friendlier voice, matching the intention of collaboration and community. Beyond the main community site design, I also collaborated with the developers on the team to design a user experience for community members to learn how to use the product and become certified Appian developers. This experience was designed to be easy to pick up, and quickly ramps the user into understanding the intricacies of the product.
Starting with a simple user flow based on conversations with the team about how the certification flow was used, I then created a lo-fi mockup that was refined to the final rendered design. Throughout each step elements were relocated and added and the overall experience refined, including the addition of icons and illustrations to create a better hierarchy and ensure the process was easy to come back to after long stretches away from the flow.
New Branded Marketing
With a new brand and website, the many branded elements that are produced on a regular basis required a fresh coat of paint. I was tasked with creating new campaigns, as well as one off posts to promote various elements of the Appian brand.
